No matter if you have a lawn care service business, or are just a
homeowner, a lawn edger is a must have tool.
Lawn edgers are one of those tools, once you have one, you will wonder how you
ever got along without it .
We use ours every day in our lawn care business.
If you have never tried a lawn edger will be impressed with what clean edges it
leaves on walkways and driveways.
Lawn edgers can be a great add on to your business. You can charge extra to edge
driveways and walkways every other visit or as needed. Another possibility it to
throw in edging as a bonus to your clients to show your appreciation.
You can get a a lawn edger from any number of manufacturers including
(in no particular order) Stihl, Echo, Husqvarna, and Honda just to name a few.
Most use two stroke engines so you can use the same gas / oil mixture
you use for your line trimmer and leaf blower.
When choosing a lawn edger there are a couple of different things to consider. The
first
being your choice of straight shaft or curved shaft. The other thing to consider
is there are now 4 stroke models available. The one pictured above is bent
shaft, two stroke model. I've owned this particular lawn edger for about 2 years
and I am very happy with it.'
To be honest I went to the dealer with another edger in mind to purchase. I
tried several models and this one felt very light and easy to use. This is why
it's important to go to your local dealer and try out several models before
making a decision.
Everyone has an opinion on which one
is better and some lawn edgers will feel different than others so here
again, I suggest you try one out for a while at your local dealer and then
decide.
